Dr. George MacMaster
Dr. George MacMaster founded Alpharetta Children’s Dentistry in a small office on Alpha Court in 1989. It has grown into a practice that takes pride in providing the best possible care for all children, from newborn through college. Dr. Mac and his colleagues share in the belief that creating a positive experience and making a child feel comfortable is the ultimate goal of this practice. Dr. Mac is board-certified in pediatric dentistry, and attended dental school at the Medical College of Georgia and completed his pediatric residency at the University of Florida.
He enjoys amusing the patients and staff with his unique brand of humor and can often be found working on new computer programs.
Dr. Theresa Caruso
Dr. Theresa Caruso graduated from dental school at West Virginia University and completed a general practice residency at The Ohio State University. Dr. Caruso taught at WVU dental school as a clinical and academic instructor for three years prior, to completing her pediatric residency at the University of Rochester. Always smiling and ready with a kind word, Dr. Caruso is dedicated to helping children have a positive dental visit. She’s been a part of Alpharetta Children’s Dentistry & Orthodontics for the past 17 years. Dr. Caruso and her husband Marty have two children. Being with her family, whether traveling together or just hanging out at home, is her favorite leisure time activity.
Dr. Meaghan Kindregan
Dr. Meaghan Kindregan was introduced to pediatric dentistry in high school while working for her dad, Dr. Mac! Following in his footsteps, Dr. Kindregan is board-certified in pediatric dentistry, and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia, and even though she is a dedicated Georgia Bulldog fan, she completed her pediatric dental residency at the University of Florida! She and her husband, Patrick, love spending time with their 2 daughters and 2 golden retrievers, Catcher and Salsa.
Dr. Jay Shirley
Dr. J.C. Shirley received his dental degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He practiced general dentistry in the US Navy for three years before completing his pediatric dentistry training at University of Alabama at Birmingham and Children’s Hospital of Alabama. In 1997, Dr. Shirley joined the Center for Craniofacial Disorders at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Pediatric Hospital. He has been a part of the Alpharetta Children’s Dentistry & Orthodontics team since 2002, and divides his time between his hospital based practice and Alpharetta Children’s Dentistry & Orthodontics. Dr. Shirley is board certified in pediatric dentistry, and currently serves as Vice President of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He also serves on numerous committees nationwide and is a Captain in the Navy Reserve. In his free time, he enjoys running, sailing, and travel.
Dr. Kristin Piche
Dr. Kristin Piche grew up in Johns Creek, Georgia and joined ACD&O in 2020. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Georgia and received a degree in Nutrition Science. She later received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University, where she completed her two-year pediatric dental residency. While in dental school, Dr. Kristin was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, which selects its members on the basis of scholarship and character. During her free time, Dr. Kristin enjoys spending time with friends and family, walking with her Maltipoo, Bear, and cheering on the Dawgs!
Dr. Francesca Whalen
As a native of Georgia, Dr. Francesca attended dental school at the Medical College of Georgia where she graduated first in her class! She completed her orthodontic residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, biking, cheering on her Alma Mater – University of Notre Dame, and spending time with her family and puppy.
